Meet the founder of Calm Belly Cooking
I’m Lauren Parker, the face—and taste buds—behind Calm Belly Cooking. For more than a decade I battled unpredictable IBS flares. Breakfast smoothies triggered cramps, date nights ended in bloating, and “healthy” recipes felt like culinary Russian roulette.
My turning point came during a late-night search when I stumbled onto the Low-FODMAP diet. Within two weeks of mindful meal swaps, the pain that shadowed every plate melted away.

Armed with relief—and my lifelong love of food photography and copy-writing—I dove into recipe testing. I measured tolerated portions gram by gram, played flavour chemist with garlic-infused oils, and snapped every success. Soon friends were texting, “Can I get that calm-belly lasagna recipe?” That chorus grew into this blog.
Today, Calm Belly Cooking reaches thousands of readers each week, serving not only strict Low-FODMAP followers but also anyone seeking gentler, gut-friendly meals. My work is continually reviewed by Registered Dietitians, and every new dish undergoes at least two test rounds—one for taste, one for tolerance.
Looking ahead, we’re expanding into gluten-free, low-histamine, and weight-smart recipes—because life’s too delicious to let digestion dictate what’s on your fork.
Mission
At Calm Belly Cooking, our mission is simple: empower anyone with sensitive digestion to cook confidently, eat joyfully, and live symptom-free. Through Low-FODMAP and gut-friendly recipes, we transform medical “can’t-haves” into crave-worthy plates—so you never feel deprived.

We bridge science and comfort food, providing clear portion guidance, nutrition facts, and step-by-step visuals that help you take charge of your kitchen—and your belly—one calm bite at a time.
Editorial & Testing Policy
How we keep recipes trustworthy ?
• Ingredient lists and portion sizes are validated against the Monash University FODMAP database or peer-reviewed clinical papers.
• Each recipe is cooked twice—first for flavour and texture, then for digestive tolerance at the stated portion.
• Nutrition panels are audited quarterly by an external RD.
• We cite clinical studies and reputable medical sources in every educational post—no anecdotes, no fad claims.
• Reader feedback is logged; recipes are re-tested when multiple users report tolerance issues or ingredient updates.
